Annual Open Enrollment
October 15–December 7 each year is the usual window to change Medicare Advantage or Part D coverage for January 1 of the following year. The plan must receive the request by December 7.
Turning 65 and other changes
Initial enrollment, leaving qualifying employer coverage, moving, or other circumstances may create different enrollment opportunities. Confirm the rules and effective date for your situation.
If your plan is not renewed
A qualifying non-renewal can provide a special enrollment opportunity from December 8 through the last day of February. Other plan changes do not automatically create the same rights. See our 2027 guides and have your notice reviewed.
